BACK CHEA SUN KIM

USA Archery Level 4 NTS Coach

  • Competitive Korean archer from Nam-Cheon Elementary school 4th grade to graduated Dong-eui University in Busan in South Korea. (12 years)
  • Korean Archery Association Certified Coach (2nd Grade) – Korea Archery Association
  • Korean Archery Association Certified Official Judge (3rd Grade) – Korea Archery Association
  • Worked under the W&W Archery Company since 1999-2001.
  • Discharged upon completing Korean military service in 1998 ( The 5th Infantry Division )
  • Korea National Recurve Archery Team Member since 1993-1994.

Archery is my life. I Experienced as a Korea National Archery Team athlete and volunteer tutor for several archery players of a wide range of ages, backgrounds and skill levels. And I was well-developed communication and interpersonal skills furthered through experience as a coach and instructor of school archery team and several volunteer coach.

I have been competing for many years. Archery is one of my passions. I enjoy archery and the people in it. My Coaching Philosophy is Athletes First, Winning Second.
I am looking forward to meet and Guide future athlete to share my knowledge about technical and tactical skills.

Laurence Mo

USA Archery Level 4 NTS Coach
Competed in collegiate archery tournament throughout the UK for 3 years.
Coached at Pasadena Roving Archers about 8 years Olympic Recurve and Compound class before working for JLAA.
Have been shooting Olympic Recurve for 17 years and Compound for 7 years.
Currently work at Woods Archery Range as Bow Technician (compound, recurve and crossbow) and Coach.
Have a bachelor’s degree in Laser Physics And Optoelectronics, a Master’s in Computer Aided Engineering Design and Private Pilots Licence.

JOSH SMITH

-10 years of Olympic Recurve Shooting
-National Record Holder
-2 time Youth World Championship team member
-3 year USAT (United States Archery Team) member
-2010 Junior National Champion
-5 years training as a Resident Athlete at the Olympic Training Center

I have been teaching archery for past 7 years in both private and group settings. And my unique experience as a Resident Athlete at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Ca helps youth archers to prepare for Olympic trainings.
My favorite hobby besides archery is weight training and cooking things I have not tried before.

I’ve shot archery since the age of 10 and have been coaching for the past 9 years. Traditional archery is where my love for the sport started. Competing all over the United States and as far away as Toulouse, France, where I was a member of a local club. I was introduced to the Olympic Style Archery by my daughter Lily. She was a successful high school archer and now shoots for and attends UC Berkeley. I’m proud to be a part of the future of archery and strive to bring out the best in our students.

STEPHEN NITTA

Stephen Nitta has been coaching with the Joy Lee Archery Academy and representing the club at California State and National tournaments since 2011. He first started coaching with the first Joy Lee Archery Club, the Long Beach Club and also has helped in the Anaheim Club. Since coaching Joy Lee Archery Academy, several of his club archers have been in national youth archery teams and training programs such as the Junior Dream Team (JDT). Following high school, some of these archers have gone on to collegiate archery club and varsity programs. and full time training in the Resident Archery Program. In 2018, he joined the University of Irvine (UCI) competitive club archery program.Provile:
